Y Strainers

A pipe-line strainer is a device which provides a means of mechanically removing solids from a flowing fluid by utilizing a perforated or wire mesh straining element. A Steam Strainer is an inexpensive means of protecting downstream mechanical equipment such as condensers, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, meters, spray nozzles, turbines, steam traps, etc. from possible damages due to debris such as rust, pipe scale, sediment, and/or other solids. Control Specialties is your best source for Keckley strainers, Mueller strainers, and more. We also provide hard to find parts and repair services.

Armstrong A1FL flanged Y-strainer

starting at
$257.00 USD
details
Both ends of the Armstrong A1FL flanged Y-strainer's chambers are precisely machined. This means perfectly round and smooth seating surfaces, as well as a fixed chamber length. Since the screen seats snugly on the machined surface, no particle bigger than the screen opening can escape around the end of the screen. Learn More

Armstrong B1SC Cast Carbon Steel Strainers

starting at
$180.00 USD
details
The Armstrong B1SC Cast Carbon Steel Strainers are constructed with straight threads which means it takes less torque to achieve a tight seal with proper gasket compression. Less torque is also required to remove the retainer. For you, that means less danger of "freezing in" than with hard-to-break tapered pipe threads. Learn More

Armstrong B1SW Cast Carbon Steel Strainers

starting at
$205.00 USD
details
The Armstrong B1SW Cast Carbon Steel Strainers feature off-center blowdown connections for better dirt removal . Off-center drains on 2-1/2" and 3" strainers allow you to remove liquid and dirt nearly completely when blowing down the strainer. Armstrong CA41SC Y-strainer

starting at
$17.00 USD
details
Armstrong CA41SC y-strainers are most often used for steam and gases, but are occasionally used for liquids. They have less debris holding capacity and higher pressure drops than basket strainers, but they can be used in either horizontal or vertical pipe runs where flow is downwards. They can also be fitted with a blow-off connection at the end of the branch end that includes a valve, which allows for cleaning. The valve is opened without shutting off the flow or disassembling the strainer, as the flow through the pipe will flush out the solids in the screen. Learn More
