Dean Pumps RWA 5000 Series

Overview

No Liquid Cooling Required!
The air fan cooling design of RWA Series pumps permits temperature drop in the pump from the casing to seal faces. When pumping at 400F (204C), the seal face temperature is 190F (88C). The efficient gradient breakdown protects the mechanical seal and bearing.

1. Heavy-duty casing with Class 300 raised face integral flanges. Self venting, top centerline discharge. Confined casing gasket.

2. Temperature drop in pump from casing to bearings when pumping at 400F (204C).

3. 304SS vapor eliminator for removal/purge of the vapor from the mechanical seal faces and prevention of process liquid from escaping to atmosphere.

4. Fan mounted on the pump shaft provides air flow for cooling the ball bearings and the mechanical seal.

5. Coupling guard provides protection from the rotating fan and coupling. Also provides air inlet to the fan and channels the air flow across the pump.

6. Grease lubricated double row thrust bearings for long bearing life.

7. Back pull-out design for ease of maintenance without disturbing piping or motor

8. Single inside, balanced, mechanical seal is isolated from hot water providing for cool operation and extended seal life.

9. Water lubricated sleeve type radial bearing restricts high temperature liquids from the seal area and supports impeller radial load with L3/D4 ratio of 4.0.

10. Enclosed Francis vane impeller for efficient pump performance. Balance holes reduce axial thrust and extend bearing life.

11. Centerline supported casing minimizes thermal growth about the casing centerline without disturbing alignment.

Experience counts!
Dean Pump has designed and manufactured high temperature service pumps for well over 100 years. The Series RWA pump continues Deans tradition of experience in this field, and represents the highest quality and most cost effective hot water pumping equipment currently available in the market.

Engineered for maximum parts interchangeability, the RWA pump is designed primarily for use on hot water, ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol systems. The key feature of this pump line NO EXTERNAL WATER COOLING REQUIRED FOR THE BEARINGS AND THE MECHANICAL SEAL provides significant savings by eliminating additional, secondary utility and operating costs.
