Chocolate Lovers- this was just in time for Valentines Day.
1/2 lb unsalted butter
2-1/2 cups packed light-brown sugar
6 oz. unsweetened chocolate
4 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
confectioner's sugar, red sprinkles, etc.
Preheat oven to 325F. Butter bottom only of a 9 x 13 baking pan; cut a piece of waxed paper to fit the bottom, and press it onto the buttered surface. In a large microwave bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, and chocolate. Microwave on high for 1 minute; stir. If the chocolate is not softened, continue to microwave at 10 second intervals, removing before it is completely melted. Beat eggs and vanilla with a wooden spoon and add to chocolate mixture. Beat in the flour & salt. Pour into pan and smooth. Bake 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Run a knife around the edges and flip out onto a cookie sheet and remove waxed paper. Cut with a heart shaped cookie cutter and dust with confectioners sugar and sprinkles. Roll leftovers into balls and make brownie bites.
