Replace a Pump Seal in 20 Minutes

All pump seals will eventually require replacement. Most seal kits for pumps come as a “kit” and require major disassembly of the pump to replace. Base mounted pumps may also require an alignment check of the motor and pump shaft. Down time, water loss, and lots of other issues which will cost money.

Grundfos durable seals are made from hard wearing materials which prevent downtime and extend seal life. We know that even with the best of materials that the seal will require replacement. Minimizing downtime is part of reliable operation. On large pumps where the motor weight is more than 75 lbs, the seal can be replaced without removal of the motor! On smaller pumps, four bolts will permit removal of the motor and the seal is easily changed with a socket or spanner type wrench.

Both the stack kit and seal come completely assembled. A new seal can be replaced in about 20 minutes and a complete stack kit can be replaced in less than one hour.
