Flow Meters

Aaliant strain gage target flow meters offer a simple, reliable means to measure flows of liquids, gas, and steam to 500 F and 15,000 psig. Flow is measured in terms of dynamic force acting on a target (solid disk) in the flow stream. Hermetically sealed, bonded strain gages in a bridge circuit configuration mounted outside the flow stream translate force into an electrical output. This output is proportional to the flow rate squared. A variety of integral and remote read out devices are offered to translate this measurement to a flow.

Aaliant strain gage meters offer-

1. Wide Range ability
2. Field accuracy calibration
3. Versatile mounting options
4. Rugged flow sensor construction
5. Stainless steel wetted parts
6. Long service life
7. Bi-directional flow option
8. Integral or remote electronics

Niagara offers a full selection mechanical flow meters for liquid flow measurement. Meters are offered in two styles:

Nutating Disc– Liquid enters a precision machined chamber containing a disc which nutates (wobbles). The position of the disc divides the chamber into compartments containing an exact volume. Liquid pressure drives the disc to wobble and a roller cam causes the nutating disc to make a complete cycle. The compartments are filled and emptied each cycle. The movements of the disc are transmitted by a gear train to a register/totalizer or pulse transmitter. Close clearances between the disc and chamber ensure minimum leakage for accurate and repeatable measurement of each volume cycle.

Oscillating Piston-Liquid enters a precision-machined chamber containing an oscillating (rotating) piston. The position of the piston divides the chamber into compartments containing an exact volume. Liquid pressure drives the piston to oscillate and rotate its center hub. The movement of the hub is equivalent to a fixed volume of fluid, which is indicated as flow by a register/totalizer. Close clearances between the piston and the chamber ensure minimum liquid slip for highly accurate and repeatable measurement of each volume cycle.

We offer a full range of flow meters to meet all your requirements. Contact us with application details for a proposal.
