Becker Pumps for Printing and Paper ProcessingHeating up the presses for the knowledge of tomorrow.
Becker and Control Specialties– partners in the printing and paper processing industry.
From the preliminary printing stage, to printing, to further paper processing, and up to additional facilities (such as powder dusting or UV/IR drying), Becker technology "has got the hang of it". We at Control Specialties play an important role with printing and paper processing companies, which has made us an excellent specialty supplier. Control Specialties’ customers have access to an unlimited supply of products and knowledge in vacuum pumps and compressors of various designs – oil-free and oil-lubricated, as a single unit or as a central air supply such as a central system. We also bring a great deal of knowledge to our customers in vacuum pump selection as well as rebuilt pumps and vacuum pump repairs.
Quality printing is only possible with the best draft. For that reason, it is important to create the optimum conditions in the preliminary printing stage, as the quality of the printing result is decided here. This is where Becker comes into play – with scanners, machines for print film production, and modern CTP machines. For example, vacuum pumps hold the drafts precisely and carefully and guarantee sharp results. Compact, dependable, and quiet – Becker pumps ensure frictionless operation.

In printing operations, the combination of vacuum and compressed air supply in a separate room has clear advantages over the individual setup of many pumps and compressors. A central supply facility with high-performance Becker vacuum pumps and compressors is a worthwhile investment. From the system control room, a line connects the Becker units with the printing hall for further processing. Drop-legs supply the vacuum or compressed air to the individual machines. The necessary supply is individually regulated in each case.
This means:
1. Constantly ensured production continuity
2. No heat and noise pollution in the production rooms
3. Central monitoring and maintenance with minimum expense
4. Energy saving over a broad basis. Energy saving group supply, which takes the different demands of the individual machines into consideration- energy saving by means of "intelligent" controlling: for example, automatic switch
5. Frequency controlled rotational speed adjustment of individual central compressors, according to the number of machines working.
7. Energy saving in the air conditioning of the production rooms.
And after printing, the work is not yet done:

After paper, sheet metal, cardboard, or cloth has been printed, this is usually only the beginning: folding – stamping – cutting – collecting – stapling – laminating – tying. From envelope production to insertion of printed matter, from post automation to counting banknotes, from box stamping to bookbinding.
Here, too, Becker central systems provide vacuum and compressed air for optimum air supply – for machines which come into use after printing and related production processes.
As with printing, the requirements are: maximization of performance, maintenance minimization, waste prevention.
