The Thompson Strainer Model MLS-6 has a maximum 750 gpm with 745 sq in screen surface area. The maximum psi is 150 with a bolted lid and 6" flanged inlet and outlet.
The Thompson Strainer is a patented stainless steel strainer used on a wide variety of applications to remove solid particles from liquid streams. Our unique product has grown popular due to its patented, low maintenance design, stainless steel construction and exceptional efficiency.
All models of the Thompson Strainer operate with less than a 1psi pressure loss at maximum flow, when clean. This efficiency results in dependable filtration without constricting your system’s flow rate or causing unnecessary pressure loss to downstream equipment.
The Thompson Strainer’s internal flow patterson are responsible for making our unique product so effective. As liquid flows up through the internal riser pipe and deflects off the inner surface of the conical shaped screen, heavy sediment is forced downward, away from the screen, into the large debris reservoir. Unlike traditional basket strainers, y-strainers, or bag filters, the Thompson Strainer can be flushed while on-line and in service. Settled debris is easily removed by purging through the debris flush port.
Choosing a strainer with sufficient surface area is critical in any application. The Thompson Strainer has significantly more surface area than most traditional basket and y-strainers. With units available with connection sizes from 2” to 10”, accommodating flow rates up to 2,000 gpm (higher flow rates are achieved by manifolding multiple strainers), Miller-Leaman has a strainer that will fit your specific needs. Standard mesh options range from perforated sheet to 75 micron (200 mesh).
