The Armstrong TrapAlert (TM) saves energy and maintenance dollars because it simplifies trap testing and makes it more efficient—more productive. It makes trap testing simple, accurate and quick—even for remote or inaccessible traps. And that means frequent testing is now practical because you can test more often at far less cost.
The Armstrong TrapAlert outsmarts Even the Most Isolated Trap The simple, accurate operation of Armstrongs TrapAlert makes getting instant feedback from a trap test as easy as shining a flashlight. That's why TrapAlert is ideal for steam traps isolated high above the floor, under equipment or otherwise out of reach. The beam of a flashlight on TrapAlerts photo detector energizes the five-year lithium battery, which powers small indicator lights. Any flashlight will work close up, but for longer distances even up to 50 feet (15 meters)use a focusable high-intensity model. When a flashlight beam strikes the photo detector of TrapAlert, the monitor responds instantly with one or more colored lights, indicating different trap conditions. A green light is a good or go condition. Yellow means a cold trap. And a red light signals loss of prime or blow-thru. Flexible mounts on lights and photo detectors permit angling them away from building lights. They can also be adjusted up or down.
