Mueller Model 126F-SS Stainless Steel Basket Strainer
SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS
These strainers are used to strain foreign matter from pipe lines and provide inexpensive
protection for costly pumps, meters, valves, and similar mechanical equipment. They
are available in a variety of materials other than those listed below. In the appropriate
material, the Model 126 can be specifi ed for drinking water, cooling water, hot water
systems, sea water, etc. Just a few of the applications in the chemical process industry
are: brine, paint, heat exchangers, condensers, fuel oil, organic and inorganic chemicals.
FEATURES
These strainers have been designed for applications where easy maintenance and large
capacity straining are needed. To minimize service time a quick opening clamp cover is
available for low pressure. Consult factory. The machined basket seat eliminates particle
bypass. With the appropriate wire mesh, these strainers can be used to strain particles as
small as 5 microns.
CONSTRUCTION
Cast body and cover. All sizes feature 316SS tang grapite cover seal. Baskets are
gasket sealed in machined seats. Studs and nuts are alloy steel. Bolted cover is standard
for all units. Swing clamp covers are available on all sizes for lower pressure, consult
factory. A plugged NPT connection is provided at location D (see page D-21). Floor
supports with bolting holes are provided on sizes 4” and larger. Sizes 1” through 4”
have .062” perforated stainless steel baskets. Sizes 5” and larger have 1/8” perforated
stainless steel baskets. Other perforations and materials are available on request.
Consult factory for recommended applications. See charts on pages D-2 or D-3 for
pressure drop fi gures.
CAPACITY
Minimum 6 to 1 ratio.
SPECIAL COATINGS
Corrosive resistant coating available upon request. Epoxy & other coatings are available
on application. Consult factory.
STEAM JACKETING
