Mueller Model 690 Large Duplex Strainer
SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS
These sight glass duplex strainers are designed to remove debris which can clog and damage engine cooling water systems, both sea water and heat exchanger types, where flow cannot be shut down for gasket cleaning. When equipped with fine mesh lined baskets these strainers can be used to clarify potable water supplies.
FEATURES
The basket chambers of these duplex strainers are clear acrylic to allow direct visual inspection of the fluid passing through the chamber. The single, tapered plug diverter valve opens the ports to one chamber while simultaneously closing the ports of the other chamber. An adjusting nut lifts the tapered plug off its seat slightly to allow easy manual rotation through a 90 swing and also allows accurate reseating of the plug for a metal-to-metal seal. Both the basket and sight glass chambers are easily accessible by removing two wing nuts for quick cleaning, inspection and replacement. Basket chamber seals are Buna-N O-rings and do not have to be replaced every time the covers are opened.
