Cast Carbon & Alloy Steel Flanged Y Strainers
SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS
These strainers are designed for long service under the exacting
conditions created by high temperatures and pressures. Installation of a
strainer before any automatic equipment will ensure trouble free service
and avoid the costly repairs or replacements so often caused by the
introduction of foreign matter in pipe lines.
SCREENS
Heavy gauge reinforced stainless steel screens normally furnished.
For straining fifi ner than the perforations suggested below, use 5/32
perforated screens lined with an appropriate mesh. See page B-4.

CONSTRUCTION
Extremely rugged bodies available from carbon steel (ASTM A216
Grade WCB) and chrome-moly (ASTM A217 Grade WC6 and WC9).
Carbon-moly and other alloys are also available. All sizes have screens
with a minimum capacity of four times the corresponding pipe size
when equipped with standard screens. See pressure drop fifi gures on
page C-3.
FEATURES
All sizes have a machined body seat which, combined with the
machined seat in the cover fl ange, creates a secure arrangement for
the screen. Cover fl anges for the 764 furnished with blowoff tapping,
not plugged. Blind covers are available upon request. Cover fl anges
for 765M, 766M and 767 are normally furnished blind but socket
weld blowoff connections are available. Alloy bolting for all sizes.
Equipped with spiral wound graphite fi lled gaskets designed for high
temperatures.
END FLANGES: All fl anged strainers faced and drilled in
accordance with ANSI B16.5. Bolt holes are
either spot faced or fl anges are back faced.
BUTT WELD ENDS: Available in all sizes and pressures. See
page C-20.
RING TYPE JOINT: End fl anges available in all models and sizes.
INDIVIDUALLY HYDROSTATICALLY TESTED.
