Mueller Model 764WE Carbon Steel Y Strainer
SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS
These strainers are designed for long service under the exacting conditions created by high temperatures and pressures. Installation of a strainer before any automatic equipment will ensure trouble free service
and avoid the costly repairs or replacements so often caused by the introduction of foreign matter in pipe lines.
SCREENS
Heavy gauge perforated stainless steel normally furnished with spot welded seams. For exceptionally fi ne straining we suggest perforated screens lined with wire mesh. See page B-4.

CONSTRUCTION
Extremely rugged bodies in cast carbon steel (ASTM A216 Grade WCB) or chrome-moly (ASTM A217 Grade WC6 and WC9). Carbon-moly (ASTM A217 Grade WC1) and other alloys available. All sizes have screens with a minimum capacity of four times the corresponding pipe
size when equipped with standard screens. See pressure drop figures on page C-2.
IMPORTANT
Class 600 and 900 weld end strainers will be machined to match schedule 80 pipe and Class 1500 weld end strainers will be machined to match schedule 160 pipe (unless otherwise specifi ed). Class 2500 weld
end strainers will be machined to match double extra-heavy strong pipe.
FEATURES
All sizes feature a machined seat in the body which, combined with the seat in the cover flange, creates a secure arrangement for the screen.
Cover flanges for the 764 -WE furnished with blowoff tapping, not plugged. Blind covers are available upon request. Cover flanges for the 765M-WE, 766M-WE and 767-WE are normally furnished blind, but
socket weld blowoff connections are available. Alloy bolting for all sizes.
Equipped with spiral wound graphite fi lled gaskets designed for high temperatures.
INDIVIDUALLY HYDROSTATICALLY TESTED.
